When Tanzeemul Makatib was founded in 1968 AD, arrangements for neither religious nor academic education was present at any level, while education through government schools was available only to a very limited extent. Meeting all educational needs comprehensively was beyond anyone’s capacity. Naturally, when multiple needs arise, it becomes essential to prioritize the most critical ones. Recognizing this, the founder of Tanzeemul Makatib, Khateeb-e-Azam Maulana Syed Ghulam Askari (AM), initiated a movement to establish maktabs across the country. The goal was to establish 1,000 maktabs to address the community’s educational needs. Alhamdulillah, this mission succeeded, and today, 1,171 maktabs are operational.

Upon achieving initial success, the focus shifted toward the establishment of schools. In addition to maktabs, a movement to establish schools was launched in 1984 AH. However, over the past 40 years, only partial success has been achieved. This is primarily because setting up and managing a school requires significant financial resources. Schools cannot begin without infrastructure essentials, such as buildings and furniture, and ongoing operations also entail considerable expenses. By contrast, a maktab can be initiated in imambargah or mosque. InshAllah, the faster the community’s support grows, the more rapidly this initiative will advance. Our mission is clear: no child, wherever they may be in the country, should remain uneducated.

Currently, There Are Three Types of Schools as Follows:

1. Schools where both religious education and a complete modern curriculum are provided. These include 12 primary schools, one high school, and two intermediate colleges. A total of 2,857 students are taught by 145 teachers in these institutions.

2. Schools where religious education is provided alongside modern subjects (mathematics, English, and Hindi), enabling students to transition from the maktab to schools at class 6th. There are currently 10 such schools.

3. Private schools where religious education is imparted under our supervision. There are five such schools with 212 students and 15 teachers.

This structure allows for a broad-based educational system that combines religious and essential modern day subjects to support students’ overall growth.
