Establishing a Virtuous Society Through Religious Education and Training
The foundation of a virtuous society cannot be laid without religious education and moral training, and in this endeavor, the role of women is paramount. The mother’s lap is a child’s first classroom, shaping their character and beliefs. Only those children who are nurtured in the embrace of a mother well-versed in Islamic teachings can grow into individuals strong enough to resist the influences of atheism, estrangement from religion and influences of Western culture, standing firm against these challenges.
To impart Islamic knowledge widely among women, we initiated the Madaris-e-Khadeejatul Kubra, complementing the Makatib program. This initiative enables young girls to pursue contemporary education alongside religious studies. A comprehensive two-year curriculum has been designed, covering Fiqh and Aqeedah, History (tareekh) and Seerah, Tajweed and Qer’at, Islamic manners, practical rulings, and Islamic ethics. The first Madrasa Khadeejatul Kubra was established in 2003 within the Jamiatuzzahra building in Lucknow, marking the start of a journey to empower the community’s women with essential religious and academic knowledge.
